As part of the France 2030 investment program which aims to prepare the France of tomorrow, the French State has validated the granting of financial aid to Mainbot for the realization of its main project The Winkyverse, a metaverse which aims to reinvent learning through immersive experiences combining e-learning, gaming and Web3, for professionals and individuals.
An educational and scalable platform for businesses and the general public
The Winkyverse aims to become an open platform bringing together everyone’s knowledge accessible via Academies. The platform is thought and designed as an environment that can grow unlimitedly over time to be able to host more and more content. Mainbot intends to primarily target companies to offer ready-to-use or customized training, then to a wide audience when the content offering will be multiple.
Academies: Immersive learning spaces
The Academies are at the heart of The Winkyverse, they are the first building blocks of the educational metaverse project. They are presented in the form of 3D spaces allowing learning in an interactive environment. Visitors can already explore the first Academies within the Grand Academy, for free and without creating an account. Covering various topics, they were produced by Mainbot, companies such as TV5MONDE, as well as members of the community. The Academies will eventually be hosted on parcels of Land present on the map of The Winkyverse universe, for which access or certification could be monetized.
The first immersive Academy intended for corporate sales will be released at the beginning of 2024. It will be presented in the form of a ready-to-use learning module and will aim to introduce employees to the challenges of sustainable development. This introduction module will immerse participants in a 3D Mayan city, highlighting historical parallels with current concerns. Participants will be invited to complete quests to validate the concepts acquired and receive an electronic certificate.
An educational, collaborative, fun and profitable platform
The long-term objective of Mainbot is to develop a persistent, immersive and inclusive virtual space, accessible to everyone, whatever their motivation, and allowing them to easily share their knowledge in customizable spaces, after validation of the content by Mainbot, as well as the community. An experience which can be both unique, collaborative, enriching, fun and income-generating for the creators of Academies on the one hand, and which on the other hand, will allow the acquisition of skills in the form of electronic certificates (NFT) for learners.
Obtaining France 2030 support
Mainbot responded to the call for projects “i-Démo 2022 and i-Démo Europe” from France 2030, published in the Official Journal of the French Republic, to obtain funding assistance for the development of The Winkyverse, the first gamified educational metaverse with a global vocation, organized via a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).
After a demanding and selective procedure, including an investigation by an independent expert committee from the world of research and business, the quality of the Mainbot project was highlighted in the conclusions delivered to the State. The innovative nature of The Winkyverse project, the purpose of the aid, as well as the economic, social, environmental and industrial benefits expected in the country, were determining elements in the decision to grant the aid.
The Prime Minister thus gave her favorable opinion to award The Winkyverse project state support of up to €6,398,334. The aid allocated for the purpose of carrying out the project will be composed of a grant, as well as a repayable advance, validated within the framework of France 2030, an investment plan financed by the State aimed at supporting technological innovation to position France as a leader in the world of tomorrow, as well as within the framework of France Relance, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU. The financing provided by the State to The Winkyverse project was established in a contract signed by Mainbot and Bpifrance, to which the State has entrusted the functions of operator to manage part of the France 2030 credits.
The methods of exploitation and/or valorization of the results resulting from the financing program will notably be the sale of Academies, NFTs and Land in the metaverse. The financing program will take place with an advance, then three key stages and will end on June 30, 2026. Each payment will correspond to a key stage and conditional on the achievement of the criteria defined for each stage, in particular the achievement of the main results expected by in relation to the objectives set.
